Don't let dew form inside your scope's Optical Tube Assembly (OTA), which can lead to many problems, including foggy optics, rust, and fungus growth! The Desi EP125 device uses a commercial-grade desiccant pack to absorb moisture in a sealed OTA (refractor, SCT, ...) of up to a 650 cubic inch volume, equal to that of a Tak 120. An OTA that is 3" wide and 36" long has a volume of 254 cubic inches. The supplied commercial grade packs will not allow silica gel dust to get into your telescope, which can happen with general purpose packs. The Desi EP125 fits in a 1.25" eyepiece focuser tube or in a diagonal. It extends 22 mm into the tube or diagonal, and 28 mm above allowing it to fit in any diagonal or eyepiece holder. The Desi EP125 is made with PETG, rated to not deform in temperatures up 176F/80C. Place one of the 2 supplied 5 gram "blue" desiccant packs in the Desi EP125 and press on one of the white flexible caps on top to seal the system. The other white cap is used on the other end to keep the enclosed desiccant pack fresh when not installed in the scope. The desiccant pack will turn pink when it has absorbed its full capacity of moisture. You can restore a pink pack back to "blue" by placing the pack in a microwave oven set on DEFROST for a few seconds. The number of seconds will depend on your microwave. Start with 5 seconds and increase in 5 second cycles, being careful to not overheat the pack.
