M49 Observation Telescope OBS With Tripod

This observation telescope belonged to my dad. I am 70 years old and have kept it in a cedar chest. I do not know the exact age but I remember it as a young child. No carry case. It has both lens caps. When I look through it appears clean. Leather strap is a bit worn but not ripped. All the bolts turn. I was told it is on the tripod backwards. Easy fix I believe. The metal plate says: Telescope OBS  M-49 Stock no. 7578445 Serial no. 18052. There is other writing on the opposite side of the metal plate that I can't read. The scope measures 14 3/4" The tripod is 13 1/2" when closed Tripod number 7669718 on the part that holds the scope and 7635203 on the other part. I was told it was WW11 and also earlier.
