Plans for building a 6" 200 Power Reflecting Telescope by Herbert G. Edison. This telescope project was an instant hit because it could be produced on a low budget.
The barrel is an aluminum irrigation tubing, or a sheet wrapped around a form and riveted. The hardware is made from pipe fittings. The tripod uses a 3 in. bronze pipe flange as a bearing. Auto valve springs are used to adjust the mirror. Complete details on hand-grinding the mirror, saving costs and providing a wonderful opportunity to learn about optics and telescope-making from the ground up.
